Kevin Welch was once described as a cross between a renegade storyteller and a heartland romantic.Kevin is an Americana music nominated artist, a genuine troubadour Who learnt his skills travelling the honkytonk circuit before spending 3 decades in Nashville. As a recording artist Kevin has charted 5 times in the American top 100.

In 2006 as part of the group” Kane Welch and Kaplin” he recorded Lost John Dean Album which reached number one on the Americana charts and resulted in nominations for numerous awards including Duo/Group of the year. Lost John Dean knocked Bruce Springsteen off the number one slot in the charts. Their follow up Self Titled Album “Kane Welch & Kaplin” reached number 3 in the charts unable to outsell Steve Earle or Alison Krause/Robert Plant.

Kevin is also an accomplished song writer having wrote songs for artists such as Garth Brooks, Moe Bandy, Trisha Yearwood, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Pride, Randy Travis, Don Williams, The Highwaymen, Reba McEntire to mention but a few. Kevin was one of the co-founders of ‘Dead Reckoning Records’ which released 21 records to date.

Recently Dead Reckoners song Postcard From Mexico featured in the ABC's hit TV drama “Nashville”. Welch frequently performs at the famous Bluebird Café which is the location of many scenes in TV’S Nashville.


Dustin Welch was born in Nashville, Tennessee, son of Kevin Welch. He grew up around some of the finest songwriters and musicians in the industry. Dustin was writing songs and playing music from an early age and formed his own unique style of storytelling. He taught himself how to play the banjo and experimented with different styles. In 2009 he relocated to Austin, Texas and released his first album Whisky Priest. Dustin was appreciated strongly for his raw talent, becoming instantly famous in Austin, Texas. He released another record on 12th February, 2013 called Tijuana Bible. Welch hosts two weekly song writing and guitar workshops both in Austin and San Marcos for a programme entitled Soldiers Songs and Voices, this is a tribute for Armed Forces Veterans. He now resides in Austin, Texas with his wife Kayla.
